Smidmart Delivery & Collection — Plain Speak Policy
Smidmart Delivery & Collection — Plain Speak Policy
Here’s how we deliver at Smidmart. No fluff. What it costs, when it arrives, how you track it, and what happens if the courier can’t reach you. If anything looks off, tell us—we’ll fix it fast.
Who this covers
Business accounts (logged‑in, GST/VAT).
— Private/guest customers (not logged in).
— Offline orders placed by phone or email (we support both).
What you’ll pay (simple numbers)
Online — Business: Free delivery above ₹4,000 (before tax). If below, it’s ₹350.
∙Online — Private/Guest: Free above ₹5,000. If below, it’s ₹700.
∙Offline (phone/email): Business ₹350 per order (free above ₹4,000). Private ₹700 flat.
∙Weekday cut‑off: Order before 5:30 pm for next working‑day dispatch. After 5:30 pm →
within two working days.
∙Want fewer drops? Ask for consolidated delivery so multiple orders arrive together.
Big or awkward items
What counts: heavy cartons, oversized boxes, pallets, or anything needing a tail‑lift,
crane, or extra hands.
∙Extra charges may apply (weight, distance, stairs, permits). We’ll quote them
upfront—no surprises.
∙Before we ship, we’ll check access: gate passes, floor level, lift/door widths, safety rules.
∙Default is curbside. Inside moves or floor‑to‑floor need to be booked in advance.
Tracking & updates (email/SMS)
You’ll get a tracking link by email and/or SMS when the parcel leaves our warehouse.
∙We ping you at key points: dispatched → out for delivery → delivered (proof of delivery
where available).
∙No live tracking on a special route? We’ll send manual updates the old‑school
way—email/SMS.
When we deliver (weekends & holidays)
∙Standard window: Monday to Saturday.
∙Sundays and public holidays aren’t routine—but we can arrange if needed (courier
availability + extra charge).
∙Some remote or access‑restricted areas run slower. We’ll call it out early if timing looks
tight.
If we miss you
Courier can’t reach you? They’ll leave a card/SMS and try again automatically.
∙Re‑delivery fees can kick in after repeated misses, or if you change the address/time slot
post‑dispatch.
∙Prefer not to wait? Collect from a Smidmart branch after we confirm it’s ready.
∙Couriers/branches can hold parcels briefly; longer storage may be chargeable.
Premium options (when timing matters)
Same Day Courier: starts from ₹1,000; limited locations; book in advance; some items
excluded.
∙Timed Delivery: next‑day 10:30 am slot for business accounts at a small extra
fee—choose it at checkout.
∙Consolidated Delivery: fewer gates to clear, fewer sign‑offs; cheaper per unit on big
projects.
Same‑day branch pickup
16 Smidmart branches. Typical hours: Mon–Fri, 9:00 am–6:00 pm.
∙Flow: order online/phone/email → wait for the “ready for pickup” message → bring ID
and order reference.
∙Tip: log in. Non‑logged‑in business orders may see a ₹700 collection charge you can
easily avoid.
Call Off stock (project mode)
Buy once, store at a local branch, collect only when needed. Great for fluctuating demand
or phased installs.
∙Subject to branch capacity and product type—your account manager will set the
guardrails.
Your part (so deliveries don’t snag)
Share a clean address, GST details (if any), and a phone number someone actually
answers.
∙Make sure someone’s around during the delivery window; arrange gate/entry
permissions in advance.
∙For bulky drops, confirm access routes, floor numbers, and EHS requirements before we
roll.
If something’s wrong on arrival
Give the boxes a quick check. If anything looks off, note it with the courier and take a
couple of photos.
∙Tell us within 24–48 hours with your order number and those photos; a short note on
what’s wrong helps.
∙We’ll sort a replacement/return as per product category and warranty once we verify
the issue.
Small print (kept small)
Some services don’t apply to certain products (e.g., extended‑range or calibration) or
locations.
∙Availability and pricing are confirmed during order processing—if there’s an edge case,
we’ll flag it.
Real world examples (because they help)
“We have a 200‑kg panel going to a mezzanine.” → We’ll price a tail‑lift plus two‑person
carry, check stair width, and schedule a time window.
∙“We’re shut on Fridays but need Monday 10:30 am.” → Choose Timed Delivery at
checkout; we’ll align the run sheet.
∙“Three POs this week—one delivery, please.” → Ask for a consolidated drop; finance still
gets separate invoices.
